Who we are

Paul Mwingwa is Founder and CEO of SAPTIC KAZI-ni-KAZI a community leader , Educator with a strong background in refugee support and human rights work and advocate serving as the Refugee Congress Delegate for the State of Montana — a national role representing refugees and displaced people in advocacy and public policy efforts across the U.S.

Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Paul and his family spent many years living as refugees in Rwanda after fleeing conflict in their home country. He came to the United States in 2018 with his wife and children and eventually made Missoula, Montana his home.

He earned an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Information Technology & Cybersecurity from the University of Montana, Missoula College, graduating in May 2024 with a concentration in Network Administration & Security. He serves as Computer Support and Cyber Security specialist.  

Human Rights Independent Consultant Certified from US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Right (USIDHR) Paul now works independently, applying his lived experience and advocacy skills to human rights, social justice, and refugee support work.

Paul has also served as a Swahili and Lingala languages instructor and provided private language instruction through the Lifelong Learning Center in Missoula and University of Montana.

Paul is Certify Life insurance agent for many states in USA and Financial Educator: where he helps families get affordable Cars, Homes and life insurance.  

He received the Refugee Congress Delegate Excellence Award in 2023 for his community leadership and advocacy efforts.

Executive Director, Montana Organization of New Americans (MONA) — Paul leads this refugee- and immigrant-led nonprofit initiative focused on empowering New Americans in Montana with resources, education, advocacy, and community engagement.

Formerly, he worked with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Missoula as a Caseworker Assistant and was a member of the IRC Refugees Advisory Council, where he supported newly arriving refugee families and helped fill interpretation and cultural navigation roles.

Personal Interests

In his free time, Paul enjoys hikingwalking along the river, and supporting others to succeed — continuing the spirit of service that has guided him from refugee life to community leadership.
